Hello book clubbers! We are less than two weeks away from Christmas and I’ve decided to do a little roundup of the books I am planning on reading this festive period.
My first pick is a nonfiction book by Eddie Hearn, yes Eddie Hearn, the man behind every successful boxer in this country! His book is titled “ Relentless: 12 Rounds to Success” and it’s an autobiography/ guide to success with an incredible insight into what it takes to be successful regardless of your career path.
Second on my list is “Leave the World Behind” by Rumaan Alam. A thriller about two families, strangers to each other, who are forced together on a long weekend gone terribly wrong. It is an eerily realistic scenario about what you might do if the end of the world was a blink away. How far you would go to protect your family and keep them safe – a proper page turner!
My classic pick is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. A family drama set in the American Civil War, it follows the March sisters- tomboy and aspiring author Jo, tragically frail Beth, beautiful Meg, and romantic, spoiled Amy, united in their devotion to each other and their struggles to survive in New England. It is a truly special book that will make you laugh, cry and smile.
Lastly, I couldn’t talk about Christmas books without including Meet me in London (I know quite cheeky of me) but if you haven’t read it yet it is such a festive book! A classic romance set in Chelsea that follows Victoria and Oliver, their journey of finding love through a different and unusual path where tragedies and expectants threaten to pull them apart but where love prevails.
Do you love catching up on your reading during this period as well? What is in your list to read next? Let me know in the comments and hope you enjoy my picks!
